The Manhattan was actually a favorite classic cocktail of mine when I was in my twenties - probably because it used the Maraschino cherry liqueur, I loved Maraschino cherries a lot a few decades ago, lol. You'll notice I changed the spelling a bit - I have to change something and if I can't dicker with the recipe I'll have fun with the name.Recently I revisited this cocktail and poured it into my favorite Lolita Cherry Martini glass. Though bourbon is not one of my favorite alcohols I enjoyed it and it brought back a lot of memories of the seventies and my disco days!
If you like the idea of martinis but prefer bourbon to vodka or gin try this classic cocktail out - maybe it will bring back some memories for you too.
